As a side issue, we see a typical example of the state of the British Press. The headline is the exact opposite of the quote from the Finnish politician.

Actually, I have to take back my criticism of the Independent. I didn't read the article properly. He did accuse Gaunt of racism, but only off air.

Gaunt is singularly the worst broadcaster I have ever heard. How on earth he finds employment defies belief, and says much for those running our media.

It does indeed, Chrissy. It also says a lot about the British public. If no-one listened, he'd soon be taken off air, but inexplicably, people do.

The problem with this country nowadays is that you are not allowed to speak the TRUTH.
The TRUTH hurts which is why Robert Kilroy-Silk was vilified for expressing what 99% of what the British population think (Taking his daily show off-air, etc) about this country and the state of disarray it is in.
I am just glad I am nearly 70 years of age and will not be here to witness the things which are to come in this country.
I guarantee we will have a similar situation in this country to what is happening between the Israelis and Palestines. In our case it will be the Muslims against the ENGLISH people.
I think a very intelligent politician mentioned something about this a few decades ago, his name was Enoch Powell, and as usual was ostracised by his own party for speaking the TRUTH.

Donald, we quite clearly are allowed to speak what we regard as the truth. Gaunt is in a highly privileged position as a broadcaster on a national station, and he seems free to rant about about anything he likes.

You have narrowed the argument to Islam. Gaunt was talking about Britain being suffocated by all immigrants which I regard as ludicrous. When Enoch Powell made his "Rivers of Blood" speech, he couldn't have known about the future development of radical Islam and as such that speech deserves no respect.

For about half a century we have welcomed (at least some of us have) people from the West Indies and Sikh, Hindu, and now Eastern European communities. They have all contributed greatly to our economy, and I love the depth of cultural diversity they have given to our society.

To return to your very specific argument, Donald, I'm sorry to say I tend to agree with you. I find it very difficult to respect a religious culture which shows no respect to my beliefs of atheism and tolerance. Any belief system which treats women as second class citizens and advocates the brutal execution of gays, adulterers and just about anyone else who dares to defy what the Koran dictates has no place in the 19th Century, let alone the 21st.

Remember though, it won't be a war between Muslims and English people, as you say. Most Muslims here ARE English, whether you or they like it or not. It will be a war between Muslims and non-Muslims. There is an extreme outside chance I will still be alive to witness this, and frankly, I would rather be dead than live under the barbaric and backward outrages of Sharia law.
