TOPIC: Spongers

Many say the PM is one. Free accommodation, country homes, transportation, food and security - just for a start!

Just like all his predecessors - with many 'hangers on' encompassed on the payroll also, with free cars etc.

All major UK PLC's give similar support levels to executives - just like the taxpayer provides to our Royals.

It is the gifts in exchange for influence that is the problem, not where he stands at a football match. (Though Prince William watches from the stands)

But of course they want you to believe that spongers are at the bottom of the food chain. How dare they beg for scraps at the foot of the great table. The lazy scrounging bastards.

and the one who never accepted a freebie even football tickets and would donate some of his expenses to charity..Jeremy Corbyn.

The PM's salary is quite modest (the Oz PM gets double that) compared to industry leaders although he does get numerous freebies as you mention..accommodation etc and MPs get a host of expenses that boost their salary.

It's the damned hypocrisy as they preach to the masses to live within their means.

Totally agree.

The top level of society are the real spongers. The Tories are much worse than Labour, of course, but I am certainly not remotely surprised by the revelations about the right wing Keir Starmer, who drove most if not all genuine leftwingers out of the party.
