TOPIC: Legal Aid

Legal Aid 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Those who do not know and have never been through it are not aware of the hoops you have to jump through to get legal aid. You have to prove you simply do not have enough income to pay the huge sums charged by lawyers and courts.

In 2001 I had enough to pay (one million pounds - my old age pension). In 2018 I got legal aid almost immediately. I no longer had any money. Let alone enough to prove fundamental dishonesty, which requires excellent investigation - and good PIs are rare as hen's teeth and cost the earth. That is why so few can afford to buy justice. NOT paying for better lawyers (the most expensive are rarely the best; those who believe will accept legal aid and do a far better job). But for finding evidence. For example I was a very successful producer - many offered "anything at all" to be produced by me, which I always refused - not for moral reasons, but because I only produced real talent, not just the Rocky Horror Show, Genesis, 10cc etc but catchy, novelty mass appeal like Bay City Rollers, I Get Knocked Down, Who Let The Dogs Out, Leap Up And Down Wave Your Knickers In The Air. And if I disliked or didn't trust someone I wouldn't go near them with a barge pole. Especially one who stated or implied they would "DO ANYTHING".

This doesn't apply so much to the groupies and others ("I'll do anything, Al Fayed, to work at Harrods") but time changes memories and death allows total invention or exaggeration. If you never even met Al Fayed but worked at Harrods, why not fake it for a few thousands? And there are many lawyers delighted to help (for a cut, of course).

No Win No Fee was a great idea to help the abused penniless. But Loophole Lawyers moved in fast.

Several messages about this - oh yes, it happened to me dozens of times. During my TV era especially NO LIMITS I had several visits from people who often claimed to be "close friends" of Gambo or my director Gordon Elsbury (openly gay) - I wouldn't let them through the door, being well aware that many times hacks and paps were sitting in a car outside. SOO many ghastly musos (all talentless) prepared to "do anything" to be produced my me and I bet they claimed I "tried it on" with them to their fellow group members etc to justify or explain their rejection, instead of admitting I thought their dreadful demo was the worst I'd heard in years. I quite often follow their careers on places like SoundCloud and believe me their music got worse not better every time. Elephants have big ears and never forget!

Al Fayed - The documentary maker (a woman of course) talks about the "incredible bravery" of the women finally coming forward when they failed to do so before his death. She does not, however, consider how the bullying and rude attempts to seduce them can be coloured up (even to the level of rapes) in order to get, at best, "closure" or, at worst, "financial compensation". I look forward to when MEN start coming forward (why not? He's dead) claiming to have been raped. The public, the law and the media will, of course, believe them. Why would they lie?????
