I like David Mitchell and he's excellent in this. Plus the clever idea of using but updating snippets of Beethoven is great. Sort of comfort telly.

I actually thought you might have been talking about this Ludwig, a delightful animated childhood memory from the 1970s that used to be shown in the five minute slot before the early evening news at 5.40pm on BBC1.

David Mitchel and Anna Maxwell-Martin I'm in. I've liked David Mitchell since the first series of Peep Show, even though he does pretty much play the same character in every part.

Looking at the trailer for future episodes. They feature Derek Jacobi and Felicity Kendal so they've obviously pulling out the big guns for this series.
