The New York Times published a report establishing conclusively that Israel was fully informed, in detail, of plans by Hamas to attack it's border that were executed on October 7. These revelations make clear that Israeli officials, knowing full well where and how Hamas would strike, made a deliberate decision to stand down in order to facilitate the attack.

These revelations mean that the Israeli government allowed and abetted the killing of their own citizens and that the Israeli government is responsible for the deaths that took place that day. This criminal conspiracy was aimed at establishing a pretext for a long-planned genocide against the people of Gaza.

Moreover, it is impossible to believe that the United States was uninformed of Hamas’s plans, under conditions where not only Israeli intelligence, but also Egypt had advance warnings of the attack. Everything points to a plot that involved Israel, the Biden administration and likely British and European intelligence agencies.

I do agree with the general consensus of opinion here re Israel's current appalling aggression; but these are a-historical and silly comparisons (sorry not just you DSC it is coming from across the site, in my opinion).

But Wyot - it was a terrorist group based in Lebanon that fired all those rockets. Yes it's a technicality and should not have happened but Israel cannot justify invading another country just as Russia cannot justify invading Ukraine.

I don't think it is entirely unthinkable that an Iran with nuclear weapons would drop the bomb on Israel with some of the madder fanatical elements. I hope when they retaliate it hits the nuclear programme but looks most likely to be the oil.

Well no arguments from me JK that Israel's violence and incursion is unjustifiable. But that doesn't mean it isn't to some extent understandable.

Hezbollah - yes - is not the Government of Lebanon; but it sits in the parliament, and is allowed to run the biggest military wing in the country. It is embedded and legitimised by the Government of Lebanon, which permits its bombarding Northern Israel with rockets.

As you say the invasion is unjustifiable - as I also believe the actions in Gaza are - but comparisons with Wales etc wipe clean the dirt from organisations such as Hezbollah. Who are at least as vile as the IDF; and would wipe Israel off the map tomorrow if it had the capacity. As would Hamas and Iran.

We need political solutions not violent ones; and those who paint Israel as insane and entirely unprovoked in all this, make political solutions less likely, and violence more likely. In my opinion.

The German people were not being attacked by Jews when they commenced the final solution. There was no provocation by homosexuals or gypsies either.

The IDF are no Nazis. They have been provoked (yes as have Hamas and Hezbollah by Israels behaviour in the region). However they are acting in a recklessly violent, unjustifiable manner that merits condemnation from any right-thinking human being; from anyone with an ounce of human compassion.

I could cry with frustration watching the news, or looking at my kids and wondering how far this over-inflated little Island will drag itself into all of this. And I know every good soul on here feels the same way.

Let's all just hope (or pray) that all the horrors cease soon. And yes that clearly has to start with Israel (and Russia) getting the fuck out of other countries.

Even the article you quote contradicts itself and acknowledges that the NYT report claims a mistakewas made by Israeli officials:

I'm very very wary of conspiracy theorists even those, with best intentions, who simply assume something obeys their agenda when it doesn't really. It astonishes me that there are those who still try to make excuses for what happened on October 7th last year.

People still apologising for or seeking to justify the total defilement of innocence and humanity on that dreadful day.

People still blaming the victims, as if innocent civilians targeted by cowardly death cultists for the ease of the massacre that was wrought upon them somehow deserved it.

People have marched in their hundreds of thousands through Britains own capital city in sympathy with these murderers, calling them heroes and freedom fighters, waving the flags of war on Britains streets, whilst the police turn blind eye.

People tearing down the posters of those still being held by these death cultists in London. The police doing it too.

How can anyone feel anything other than horror about that day, as mangled corpses were paraded back into Gaza so that civilians could take their turn to punch and spit out their ingrained hatred onto broken bodies. No one likes to talk about the thousands of ordinary Palestinian civilians who also glorified in the carnage.

What happened on the 7th of October was a festival of rape, torture, murder and death. It was an attack on everything the civilised world should hold dear.
