Yes two of the firms acquiring false accusers, often after acquittals but usually involving dead people (their estates) or in prison (thus forcing innocent wives and children out of homes) are Simpson Millar and Slater and Gordon. However, the icing has really started to drop off the cake. There are even cases (not necessarily either of those companies) when they have said No Win No Fee, then fail to extract any cash or lose in court and start charging the (often penniless) clients.
This is one example of Using the Law to Break the Law. Some legal firms doing this scam, which I think is Demanding Money With (Legal) Menaces, go bust then start up again under another name. This was common during the Whiplash era. They are very good at conning their victims ("Nothing to Lose!"). Anyway I felt today's report (check out the comments) might be of interest.
I suspect the main attention at the moment is aimed at Al Fayad.
It is even more prominent in America where the poster queen is Virginia Roberts/Giuffre (£12 million and counting against a totally innocent man).
It really has become like Whiplash and every Al Fayad or Savile case, that involves media inflation, feeds the madness and the (in my opinion) crime. Whiplash never had that boost. I know the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) are well aware of this crime and hate it. By the way, the next explosion in crime development will involve the Internet.
Suprising hundreds of views for this thread (probably including Simpson Millar employees!). You may have seen another thread on QOCS. An important piece of legislation which needs testing.

I think you are spot on and there is already an under current of "victims" of the many "influencers" and "pranksters" legalling up.
But that's just the tip of an iceberg.
Slater & Gordon compo lawyers from Oz were the ones that moved to the UK as big time compo chasers re Savile & the BBC.
I reckon they hoovered up in fees the bulk of Savile's estate.
Worth thinking about the Lucy Letby appeal - made and refused on a small, specific point but covered by media in headlines suggesting this is the end for her. Far from it.
