Of 21 women who complained only 2 were sent to the CPS - media universally say "Met Police got it wromg" - not a single person says "perhaps 19 were not even remotely a crime". Reading some of the allegations now, many are simply a ghastly man going too far "trying it on". But back then the line was not considered crossed until something actually happened. Now, with any attempt deemed serious, what was not a crime years ago is a crime today. I believe most of his accusers but the majority do NOT claim rape or even abuse. They are just (and were then) offended by his gross behaviour. But then it was just "a dirty old man". In 2024 it is serious abuse or rape.
