He started a libel action against them but dropped out I presume because of the cost.

I think his legal bill for getting declared innocent was at least $1M

Interesting, hedda, thanks. I suppose the ABC would have very deep pockets. Really abysmal that a national broadcaster's journalists should behave like that. Here's hoping the BBC don't, but maybe they do.
