Rolf Harris case: interview with William Merritt 6 Months, 1 Week ago
I've just discovered that William Merritt gave an interview in January about the Rolf Harris case to Shaun Attwood on his podcast.

audioboom.com/posts/8444887-rolf-harris-...-merritt-podcast-841

My impression of Shaun Attwood is that he's a conspiracy theorist. Indeed some of the "top episodes" of his podcast in the link show that he's been interviewing David Icke. So I'm not sure how wise it was for William Merritt to be interviewed by him, as it may mean that some will dismiss his (fact-based) perspective on the Rolf Harris case as just another conspiracy theory. His decision to be interviewed by Attwood seems to show to what lengths he's having to go to get anyone, anyone, with a public voice to hear about his book and what his painstaking investigations of the Rolf Harris case - alongside Rolf Harris's new defence team - revealed, after being ignored by all media.

As I wrote in another thread, in response to the argument that GB News and Talk TV are superior to more mainstream news channels, I don't take them seriously, partly because they didn't pass the Rolf Harris "we're more independent than any other media outlet" test. One of them (if memory serves, Mike Graham/TalkTV) was supposedly going to be interviewing William Merritt about his book on the case. It didn't happen and I'm not sure if William Merritt was told why. I (and probably others) wrote to both GB News and Talk TV (and Private Eye, and other newspapers) about the book and nothing happened. William Merritt was interviewed by Anne Diamond and someone else on GB News but it had nothing whatsoever to do with the Rolf Harris case or his book and writing to her to suggest she do an interview with him on that subject had no effect. As far as I know, the only journalist to interview him about the book is an Australian radio host based in New Zealand (who apparently questions whether climate change is man-made, so arguably another conspiracy theorist).

I listened to Shaun Attwood's interview with William Merritt last night. It was very interesting. Amongst other things, William Merritt spoke about Wendy Wild/Rosher, a woman Rolf Harris never met who claimed he'd molested her in an autograph queue when she was 7/8 at an event that never happened at her local community centre that he'd never visited. She had been the first accuser to give evidence and set the tone for the prosecution case. William Merritt said she'd been a convincing liar and the judge had told the court that he'd no doubt that she was telling the truth. He had informed the jury of a legal principle (can't remember the name), whereby if they believed one accuser, they could believe the rest too. He'd reminded them of this 57 times. Rolf Harris's conviction in relation to her accusations was eventually overturned on appeal, but the rest stood.

I think the fact that the media have ignored William Merritt's book/findings is abysmal.

Very interesting.

And the Rolf's tactile habit is exactly what I said when I met him briefly and was in no way sexual. He was a polite man and he was tactile toward men at times.

Very much like Dave Lee Travis. He was someone else who was very tactile. He played pranks on people, sometimes grabbing people from behind and making wolf noises. Nothing at all sexual nor with malice. His was another case and trial that was a farce. He lost his home, his reputation, and his wife suffered a severe mental break down. Disgusting.

Yes I met him briefly at a party and he shook my hand and with the other held my elbow while listening intently and politely to whatever rubbish I was saying.

I noticed it as I am a non tactile person.

But of course today I could claim it was a "sexual assault".

Interesting argument from this Rumbler. I don't think it was a Witch Hunt but DarkMan does mention MWT. It's agree to disagree IMHO.

Yes, Barney it's just under an hour long but Jo has done her own deep dives on Harris.

I came across that guy some time ago and came to the conclusion that his interest in the subject of false allegations came from an unpleasant misogynistic motivation. Check out the episode titles here (he's listed as the author/producer/narrator - pasting in the whole link gives one set of results, clicking on the red part another).

Interesting Jo, I had never heard of him prior until last night, he came up on Rumble. I didn't agree with him but I just like to hear other POVs on things. I have said before I am for all kinds of free speech even if the person is absurd and deluded.

I am still waiting for the police to knock on JKs' door for calling Starmer a Wanker. You are jailed for memes.
