Place Your Bets - US Presidential Election Result 9 Months ago
Time to get serious on the US Presidential Election on 5th November 2024.

Who wins? You decide.

Not who do you want to win, but who do you think will win. Give an idea of the national vote share and electoral college you reckon on.

I want Trump to win, but my gut feels that Harris is going to somehow clinch it with those margins slipping her way.

My take, Harris gets 290 to 320 in the electoral college, and wins 49% vote share to Trump 46%. I split them with 95%, leaving 5% for the third party candidate Jill Stein, maybe that's generous I don't know. Harris may well get above 50%.

So a narrow to reasonable win. By Thursday we will have Trump crying foul and not respecting the result I assume.

Harris. Hope and pray. Trump is a complete narcissist and egomaniac. Cannot understand anyone who would want him to win.

Trump is not a globalist commie. That's why Cat.

I'd rather have a complete bastard with guts for a boss.

Every celeb who is backing Harris has been paid or has been blackmailed.

I think Harris will get Pennsylvania.

Someone said to me today, if Hillary Clinton couldn't beat him then how can Kamala Harris who is a far poorer bet. I just don't think it works like that. I've heard this evening that they say 8 million more women have voted than men ahead of the election day proper, which sounds ominous. I don't know if that is usually the pattern, maybe it means nothing. Let's hope they are all stacked up in California, piling up where it doesn't matter.

There is an interesting issue with the national vote share however. Like in 2016 Trump can win even if Harris gets the bigger vote share nationally. I've read articles suggesting she needs to be at least 4% or even 5% ahead nationally to be sure of winning.

For me, I just find it incredible that a woman who never earned the right to be on this Presidential election stage as the candidate, who nobody voted to be there, and couldn't even get going and fell at the first hurdle in her 2020 attempt, who has proven vacuous and unimpressive on the arguments and under questioning, could suddenly from that position upend all that previous form and win the actual election. If she does it will be the most negative win ever, not for her but for who she is not, not a man, not white, and not Trump and nothing else. Policies, who needs them.

the USA will go down a dark route if Project 25 and Musk win. The world's economy will suffer.

If Harris wins it's just business as usual and Wall St wins.

America is trillions of dollars in debt. They need another war to write some debt of. Harris has said they will go to war.

The American's won't benefit from Harris unless they are an illegal alien.

Not forgetting more censorship and pets being shot.

Alot of Yanks are thick as shit Wyot, especially in New York. They moan about NYC being a Sanctuary City but they still vote Blue. NYC has gone to back to the 1970s.

I still know people fron Long Island who shit a brick when they have to use NYC subways or go in to NYC for work. To be honest if you live on Long Island you are pretty much stuck there if you don't want to pay for tolls. Not forgetting there is a problem with the overspill from migrant from NYC going in to Long Island, has hotels are filling up. A little girl was raped in L.I. by an illegal.

Don't go thinking that it will just be Trump acting the "man baby" if he loses. Kamala and the Democrats are going to really show their colours on this one if they lose. Check out Megyn Kelly's show from yesterday and her guest Steve Bannon on that. He reckons, and he's not the only one, that Democrats will attempt to not verify a Trump win citing all kinds of shenanigans, that they might even try to turn the electors in the college so even if he won them legitimately enough they do not certify him to make him President again. It's even been said that they are preparing a new impeachment already even though the election hasn't even been done with a result either way, and that the Democrats will not go quietly. Most of the swing states have Democrat governors. If they do this then they kill their own democratic argument stone dead, although I think they've done it already with Harris on the ballot anyway.

So the best oucome would be a clear and decisive win either way to kill off such games from either side.

What is clear to me today is that had Biden still been against Trump then Trump would be a near certain nailed on landlside for sure. I'm quite surprised Harris has held up so well in view of her obvious lightweight nature.

Harris will win this election. I feel it has already been decided somehow. I have no doubt at all about it. I've never believed Trump was going to be successful at a second crack at it, or be allowed to. You just watch and see it play out.

Few countries will ever pay off their National Debt - including the USA, UK, Germany etc. And it's unlikely that the debts will ever be reduced, except by very rare and modest amounts.

The important goal is for the countries to pay the enormous interest on the debts, annually - to preserve their all important credit ratings. The UK's interest is nudging towards £2B (£2,000,000,000) a WEEK.

If Harris she will be like our Labour government, socialism. Just wait for the Yanks to be priced out their states even more.

America need to count their lucky stars they have the First Amendment. However, posting memes can get you locked up there just like in the UK.

USA is about 35 trillion in debt, they will need a war to clear that. It's the only country with the debt.

Just what has the Ukrainian midget done the tens of billions from UK, EU and USA? Apart from begging for more and getting nice hand bags?

Maybe it's a silly and naive question but, if it's so big and never will be written off, why can't all this global national debt simply be written off with a clean slate?

Obviously too many people benefit from this situation continuing and all that interest repayment, which goes where exactly?

USA's last debt reduction was in 2001 (first in 50 years). Our last one was in Blair's era; the one before, in Thatcher's!

The only (usual) way how a debt reduction can occur is with a budget surplus - selling more than paying for. Rare for us; we are borrowers.

Our deficits have been growing massively, creating a virtually unmanageable £2.6T debt. The one Labour discovered.

When Labour were the opposition during lockdown, they pressured the Tories for more furlough, longer lockdowns and PPE. Their debt would of been greater if Starmer was in charge on the plandemic, not forgetting their probably been more sucides.
