The money spent on their campaigns is obscene. I don't know why they don't bring in some sort of sensible cap on it.
But what has pleased me this week is that you can have all these major celebrities in the entertainment industry that think they have serious clout and swaying power, all those billionairers outnumber your opponent, and have a campaign that had three or four times the money to spend on everything and yet with all those perceived advantages and backing it made absolutely no difference and swayed nothing because nobody was listening and knew dud policies and a dud candidate when they saw one, and no amount of money and celeb endorsements can polish up poor policy and poor candidates into something shiny and appealing. You have to talk to real people about real problems. You wouldn't think that was too hard to understand would you.
Also people have been fed up with celebrities within in the last 5 years or so. We had them at Covid being pro-vaccine, lockdown and masks. Whilst they sit big sexy mansions.
We had them spewing bile when Trump was President. Then we had for being Pro Harris, whilst at the same they were being blackmailed because they went on Epstein Island and Diddy parties.
The Deep State is the faceless all UNELECTED bent-Banks, bloodlust Military, fake Media - BIG MAFIA!!!
In Jan 2017, Trump's first official private meeting was at The Pentagon where he was called so that no Oval Office hidden tapes could catch the instructions to him for more War!

Both parties raised over a billion dollars which is obscene.
Elections in Australia are paid for by the government with parties receiving payment for each vote received.
Mind you it does mean a nutcase like Pauline Hanson can hoover up a million bucks each year with the extreme right wing vote while never gaining any power.

Maybe Hulk Hogan has more pulling power than I anticipated.

The people running the political campaigns must know that celebrities/influencers, etc. on both sides, e.g. whether Jennifer Lopez or Joe Rogan, sway voters or they wouldn't welcome their endorsements. But I wonder if some people might perceive the celebrity endorsements as rather patronising, if they consider the celebrities' political views irrelevant and feel perfectly capable of making up their own minds. I think I would.
