No I find them totally boring and made for children, or man-children who still collect figurines and play with toy light sabers.

I agree with Cat. I had to watch them because everyone else did, but I never liked them. Then again, I am not into the sci-fi genre.

I hated that they were prequels, not sequels, and after Phantom Menace, that was enough for me. I have never looked back at the franchise.

I am glad it wasn't me who picked up on the Star Wars incest.

Yes, as an adult DSC, extremely boring. I tried the first "new" one years back, fell asleep. I wish more films were made for adults who are mentally mature...

You're not alone. They bore me too. I liked the Star Wars films as a kid, but wouldn't watch them now. The only sci-fi films I've liked as an adult have been Alien (the first one) and Life (also about an alien on a spacecraft). It's been said that many films now are geared primarily to teenage boys. I've the impression that the decline in thoughtful films started in the 1980s and that the heyday of decent films was the 1970s and before. I also have a low tolerance now for long films (i.e. anything beyond 2 hours, I'd say 1 hr 30-45 mins is ideal), unless it's something excellent that doesn't drag, like The Godfather.

There is a lot of them around, I can understand to some extent why people collect vintage toys because they do trade with other collectors as a sideline. There can be a nice little fortune to be made. At a car boot I go to there are collectors stall for toys at high mark ups and there is secruity. They do the car boots because ebay takes a commission and fees and toy fares are not cheap to set up.

If they are collecting them on their bedroom shelves or cabinets they need to get out more.

My daughters were through a Marvel phase before they reached womanhood. I had to go and shop in those geeky and comic shops. Where the owners either are obese, have bad hygene or just moody. When I went up to the counter, the shop staff were doing some table top game. I was served with contempt as I interrupted their game, the person who served me yelled to his collegues "Don't move my pieces!" I had to walk out but and he could have had a couple of hundred of pounds in his till if he wasn't a jerk. I am surprised they are still in business.

The original 1977 Star Wars was the first film I ever saw inside a cinema.
