Driving to a friend's place last night through Sydney's ritzy Bellevue Hill (mansions get superb views of the harbour and Bondi Beach) I noticed a line of limos disgorging guests at Lachlan Murdoch's house for his Xmas party.

Apparently dad Rupert is in town which explains the numerous Commonwealth cars disgorging the PM, Opposition leader and assorted MPs.

Rupert issues his orders to the politicians for the coming year despite the claim Lachlan runs the show.. People tremble when Rupert is in town. He told me to "fuck off" once.
