Rupert Murdoch's US legal bid to get right wing conservative son Lachlan as his sole heir to the News Corp empire has failed in a US court.

This means his other 3 children who are far more left leaning will really be the controlling bloc. His 2 children by Wendi Deng have no power in the company.

I worked at News when Lachlan ran the place..he's ever so nice and a real gentleman with impeccable Ivy league good manners. Mind you he did send a memo to all staff at one stage to ignore the Internet as it was a passing fad.

Dad Rupert once told me to "fuck off" when I asked him a question and said I was from a rival outlet at the amazing star studded opening of his Sydney Fox Studios which the always friendly (trembling) then government gifted him a 100 yer lease on prime inner city land for a total cost of $!. All the Star War movies were made there.

Rupert's mom Dame Elisabeth lived to 103 so I think Rupert will be controlling News Corp for a few years yet.

His father was interesting...Sir Keith Murdoch was sent to the Gallipoli campaign in WW1 as the official war correspondent where he was brutal on the bumbling actions of the British Generals.

Accompanying him as the official war artist was George Washington Lambert, an immigrant fine artist.

His son was the British classical composer Constant Lambert and Constant's son was Kit Lambert who launched The Who and produced many of their records and made Jimi Hendrix a star. I worked with Kit for 3 roller coaster years before he died at age 43.
