Fantasy political donations - Elon Musk considers giving $100 million to Labour instead 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
This rancid Starmer government is now getting very touchy about big foreign donations is it, like they've never happened before. We now have the electoral commission bleating on in the background demanding the government acts, even at the mere hint that Musk might give a decent sized slice of cash to Reform UK. The goverment is said to be looking into it. Get a move on Musk and do it if you intend to.

But just hang on a minute. Would Starmer and Labour be feeling equally indignant if they were the best mates of Elon Musk and he was purring all over Starmer keen to write Labour out a $100 million cheque any moment to bankroll them. Starmer would obviously be appalled and disgusted at such an approach and refuse the money wouldn't he, and demand new rules to prevent even the Labour party being subverted by foreign cash too wouldn't they. I mean, why would Starmer's Labour even want to look at or spend $100 million of Musk's money, they are so full of probity they would insist this could not happen, of course, it obvious isn't it.

I will just say that Richard Tice raged against George Soros for funding Anti Brexit groups claiming 'Soros is not British and pays no UK taxes he has no right in meddling in British politics.' Then just the other day Tice says 'We welcome Elon Musk's interest in our cause and would gladly accept any donation.' Hypocrisy isn't just a Mistress of the Left. I will leave that there.

But doesn't Musk pay some UK taxes through some of his business?

No Rich. None of his business is registered in the UK. Not as far as I'm aware.

I've been thinking about this "you will be believed."

I think perhaps what he meant was if you approach Police they will take your initial account in good faith, and not dismiss or diminish your belief about what happened. And they will as a result investigate.

This is not the same as saying Police will believe your account over the alleged perpetrator following investigation and act accordingly.

It was clumsily and perhaps unhelpfully put. But I think gets misrepresented.

Musk is the most dangerous nitwit on the planet. Already issuing orders to the US Congress like he owns it..and probably does.

His, at times grinding teeth and excitably idiocy similar to an Ice addict is worrying.

Australia has just passed a law limiting political donations at $10,000 maximum just as billionaire Gina Rinehart has been cuddling up to the ghastly Opposition leader providing him a fortune in free jet flights even as he moans the PM has been jetting abroad..on business.

I always fear a cretin like Musk will suddenly look southwards and just like the first Superman film where villain Lex Luthor is asked by an alien what reward would he like for helping him take over the planet and he responds.."just some coastal property..Australia"

And if anything Musk is making Trump look weak. Very very weak. It reminds me a little of the hold Dominic Cummings had over Boris Johnson, until he got too big for his breeches.

I wonder if Elon Musk has longer term political ambitions? Like Donald Trump, even more so actually, he will not have the inconvenience of having to look for cash backers to fund any future campaign, and that in itself is a massive advantage.

So although many are looking to a possible President JD Vance after Trump, could we actually be looking at President Musk, maybe not in 2028, but at some point in the 2030's?

Musk is not born in the USA so The Constitution excludes him but that could change.

Besides his wealth makes him more powerful than the president..at present.

I still think he has major problems looming with Tesla cars.

That butt ugly with what lookjng like dangerous sharp edges utility truck isn't taking the world by storm.

I've been for a ride in a pal's Tesla and it was really lovely..but no different to a lower deck Mercedes or BMW.

Also how many fires with Teslas ..with over 250 will be tolerated?

Kia & Hyundai. Kias and Hyundais have all had problems and it's cost them a fortune but their records aren't as bad as Tesla.

In the 1960s the Ford Pinto had about 26 fires and it caused unto legal ramifications with new safety laws being enacted.

An American born abroad to their American parents would not be excluded from running, it's not the born abroad part, it's that he was a South African citizen and only took up dual nationality with American citizenship 20 years ago. Actually according to wiki he has tri-nationality, SA/USA/Canada.

If Arnold Schwarzenegger had not been born an Austrian citizen I think he would have ended up elected President.

But back to the subject of the thread, if Musk is serious about donating why would he not do this sooner rather than later so that any attempts by Starmer and Labour to stifle Reform UK getting a cash injection from Musk are thwarted. I've no doubt Starmer would happily accept a huge Musk donation being fine, for Labour, the Liberal Democrats and even the Greens.

Musk is buying power and domination. Somewhere along the line someone with balls has to stop him. He's a creepy bald villain, so where's Bond when you need him? Oh, possibly fighting off accusations of multiple molestations.

Well the next 4 years will prove whether you are right won't they. I'm open minded, and want to see how the Trump/Musk partnership works in practice when they are wielding political power in just 4 weeks time. I think it will be a damn sight better than the lightweight woke horror show that would have been Harris/Walz.

I think it's all about wanting more $$subsidies from the US government having already grown fat on them.

His enormous wealth is at time ilusionary with much of it based on the value of Tesla shares but there is every chance Tesla could go belly up.

Of course he's still unbelievably rich but tales of his brilliance are exaggerated and his decimation of Twitter / X a prime example..I mean what fuckwit tells corporate advertisers to piss of when they get wary of the way X is going (the tragic advertisers on their now are rejects and scam artists).

Musk has stated he wants NASA dismantled while his vanity project Space X is given even larger subsidies to go to useless Mars (why not just go to the Australian Outback..looks exactly the same but at least there's oxygen there)

I doubt Musk would have put tampons in the boys room like Tim did.

Do you use tampons JK, Robbie, Mr Honey, Rich, Wyot, Hedda?
