The finest 20 minutes of film ever made 4 Months, 1 Week ago
in the start of David Lean's Great Expectations - the camerawork, script, acting, direction, editing, music, casting - everything is perfect. I've never seen better; I've watched it a hundred times and much more since but every time I see it, it stuns me how good it is. Without doubt the finest 20 minutes from the start.

Marvellous film. Lean is for me the greatest director of all time. Spielberg? Bah. I also adore his version of Oliver Twist. They definitely don't make em like that anymore.
