Christianity is pretty bust these days though as we are told we must admire vile people like corporate raider Elon Musk because they are "clever" but ignore The Pope who almost daily now pleads for an end to the dreadful wars decimating the Palestinians and others even while purported Christians especially in the USA ignore him.

As for Musk..catch his utterly horrible mother Maya in an TV interviews as she oozes & preaches Afrikaner hideousness. Both Musk's parents supported Apartheid.

I don't this apple has fallen far from the tree.

There only seem to be about 5 or 6 people who keep this site supplied with content, so it is very welcome. It's good to have a forum where you can have debate, not hate.

I agree there Robbie. There is so much I disagree with Cat politically but I would be more than happy to have a chat with the Cat in a pub and talk about current affairs.

I know I'm a kill joy but cannot get into the "Christmas Spirit" with the current situation in Gaza.

I turned down 2 offers for Christmas Day..one from my much older only surviving brother and one from friends.

I opted for a drink with my lovely Jewish neighbor as we both commiserated over the Middle East tragedy.

She informed me that Bondi Beach had been littered with dozing backpacker bodies on the day. I don't go near the beach these days..sand is like a nightmare to walk in.

To think once I could ride a surf board.

You are down under Hedda? How nice, or is it. Long summer days, I can't imagine not being able to put the Christmas lights on until gone 9pm or later. Not much fun that. Do many homes do lighting over there? My road has done well this year, we are all lit brightly up with colour not many minutes past 4pm in the dark, and this December has been a very very dull one even in daytime.

I often wonder what possesess certain Brits to go into the freezing sea on Christmas/Boxing Day or New Years Day each year.

Our family has friends all the way from Adelaide up to Townsville.
