I heard quite a lot of Trump's speech I actually agree with though most I don't. But basically I support someone with the talent to avoid the crooked judicial system (he's a felon because he paid a blackmailer from the wrong bank account - DOH! Fractionally less bad than getting a speeding ticket).

which parts do you believe in?
Presumably not the speech where he said those convicted of sex offenses should be executed?
Or as someone who says they don't mind refugees entering the UK, Trump's plan to deport millions of immigrants including "anchor babies" ( Barron Trump?).
So many Trump speeches with so many vindictive and weird statements, I really want to know from the Trump believers what they actually like about his alleged policies (seeing he did fuck all in his first term except catapult US debt)
I thought his condemation about positive discrimination was spot on. I agree with much of his condemnation of climate change/green policies - yes we need to improve some areas but I feel 99% of climate change is down to Mother Nature and changes in the Universe, and concentrating on the 1%, as in so much else, deflects from the far more important area - ADAPT how humanity and other species can cope with the future. I agree that the NATO countries should pay their fair share. I agree with his condemnation of the stupid "gender" issue. Most of all I agree that the judicial system should be sorted out; that Stormy and Virginia and the others should be prosecuted and jailed and that never again should anybody be condemned for paying a blackmailer from the wrong bank account - and the thousand other examples of legal shenanigans.

Stormy and Virginia G. won't be jailed though. I like Stormy as she seems like she would be fun and what did she do to Trump?. Why wouldn't he have slept with her when she's clearly his type and it was proved in court he paid her off.
Guiffe though is highly suspect with endless holes in her story.
Trump is no friend to the falsely accused. Recall he wanted the Central Park Five executed when they were later found to be innocent. No apology from Trump.
And why be so nasty to transgender people as he announced there were only "2 genders". There must be 1000s of transgender kids out in Middle America who are now terrified.
Wonder if it's a worry for Bruce Jenner , formerly known as Caitlyn Jenner who hangs out at Mar A Lago and adores Trump to find he's been cancelled.
As for Climate Change..I believe the 10,000s of the renowned world's scientists and scientific research bodies who back up their research with evidence rather than those who have a "notion" they are wrong without a scintilla of proof.
Of course it's the Earth doing what it does..reacting to what we are doing to it.
No-one has yet posted what they see as a good Trump policy. So much of what he spouts is such hatred for chosen weak targets like the Haitian immigrants eating cats and dogs that resulted in death threats and upending their lives who are now threatened with deportation..even the legal immigrants. But there is so much more hatred that Trump spouts. So horrible when he picks on a weak target. He's a monster.
Meanwhile he's just imposed a 25% tariff on Canada where the vast majority of the US building trade's timber and aluminum come from , instantly pushing up prices for house builders etc and customers.
Seems millions of Yanks are bloody clueless to how tariffs work but I think Trump may be as well.
As you know Hedda I don't like Trump and am opposed to 75% of his policies but I also feel he cannot be as bad as many others and I quite like some of his policies. The one thing I cannot do is decide, because I don't like or support someone, that EVERYTHING they do or say is wrong. Even Starmer says some sensible things.
Like JK I think some policies are good but most are bile and hatred.
The gender one. While I take your point about worried teenagers Hedda I think the gender issue has done enormous damage in itself, and is clearly political nonsense.
I agree with you on climate change though. Non scientists aren't qualified to assert what is happening.
But I am clearly old-fashioned as I don't think he should be president first and foremost because he is beyond evidential doubt a foul immoral human being.
In my world, we don't even get to his policies before discounting him as unsuitable.
And those quickly deciding he is bringing world peace should take a breath...calm down...let's wait and see
I missed his speeches, but caught footage of him and his entourage, including Musk, during the prayer. Vance and his wife had their heads bowed. Trump and Co were gazing around them like cows in a field. OK, they don't need to pray if they don't want to but they could at least look as if they were paying attention, and this is the president the Christian evangelicals seemed to want.
He has to drop Musk. Musk is an idiot. And I don't care how good he is at making money from shares. He's a complete and total banal idiot. Even without Nazi salutes. Crass. If he doesn't drop him he will live to regret it.
Extraordinary that the day before he is inaugurated Trump launches his own Bitcoin as does Melania and both have absolutely tanked with Trump supporters losing their savings.
But not Trump of course who will have cleaned up in a classic "pump and dump" scam.
I'm amazed at how today a complete lack of character and honestly is seen as something admirable.
Trump showed his character in '16 to'20. He's an old man and has not changed.
People have forgotten the utter claptrap he preached to win.."deep state" and 1000 such similar nonsense.
He just wiped out healthcare for around 5 million disabled kids.
He's just a nasty vindictive prick without a soul. Bizarre that anyone can find anything good in this man and I note no-one can ever offer up a policy of his that is beneficial.

Yep. Every policy I've seen thus far designed to make the poorest suffer.

Yes this is the real, deep problem with Trump for the future of humanity. Trump is just an example of a crass, immoral liar. How this has become a vote winner should alarm us.
