As I said during the referendum, the IN or OUT question was unimportant; the problems were with change - not needed, potentially damaging and stupid. Now the Trump tariff position looks like making the break with the EU lunatic. The kiss and love China, whilst emminently sensible, won't solve the problem. Yet again I repeat - Brexit was ridiculous (especially the referendum allowing the uninformed - as I was and most of us were - to vote a simple solution to a complex question). But we have to admit - tabloids did it and always will. Simple slogans work every time when so many punters are brain dead.
