Phone Snatch Arrests 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Met police have arrested hundreds involved in moped- phone snatching thefts in London. A zero tolerance crackdown has seen gangs infiltrated traced and raided in dawn swoops on properties across the Capital. This will be a serious blow to the Khan haters, and they will either ignore it or claim Khan caused them to steal phones in the first place. This is what policing should be, coming down hard on the criminal gangs, and let's hope zero tolerance of knife crime too. No doubt the tabloids will find something salacious about Prince Andy for the morning editions.

I wonder if many criminals will say, "I don't speak English." You can arrest people, but it does not always mean they will be charged. I also think that Khan is cracking down because the rich are leaving London, and there is a tax deficit.

Is Ahmed Abdelhakim Belhanafi another Welsh choirboy?

I remember when guns on the streets were a rare thing they seem to be common these days, if it is Black on Black it's probably over drugs, there needs to be a review on drugs IMHO. Even the Yanks are giving up on the war on drugs

Also, people are very aggressive these days, I still blame the lockdown and others have said that ban on smacking is another cause. I do think younger people could do with a slap or belt and chunky belt buckles across the kneecaps. It was one slap on the face or the back - or one strike over the knees with the belt with a bag of frozen peas for the knees afterwards.

No.

What policing should be is preventing phone thefts and stabbings happening in the first place, by visible and proactive Police on the streets. By the time you are robbed or stabbed it is too late to prevent the harm.

People will do cuntish things do to each other but phone theft used to be a petty crime in pubs.

It's only in recent years it has become a common crime and a lot of lot phones were taken from pockets not swiped from hands, it's not snatching it's mugging. The MSM need to stop downplaying with words and call a spade a spade.

Maybe we should have Sharia Law and see people lose their right hands. Maybe we should give Hudud a trail run in the West.

Well surely zero tolerance will prevent stabbings. Where it's obvious that someone is carrying a blade to use for violence. Some of these gangs are blatantly carrying zombie knives for all to see. They don't even hide em.

Why do so many people have an inability to actually let go of their own phones in the first place even when walking along the street? Zip it in your pocket and forget about it for a while! Smart phones have become like a comforter a baby or toddler needs to keep occupied or quiet.

As for the story, well what the heck took them so long to start doing this? I agree with your comment completely Wyot. Prevention, not cure.

There are already hefty sentences for stabbing people, not 100% sure what you mean by "zero tolerance" Cat? All criminological research points to the likelihood of being caught being the biggest deterrant, not the sentencing outcomes.

The fact that you observe that "they don't even hide em" kind of speaks to my point...

I hate seeing kids glued to tablets when their parents are chatting away on their phones or playing games. Most things kids watch are American cartoons or programmes, many kids now use American dialect.

It's water not "Walter". It reminds me Birds Of A Feather theme - Waddle I do.
