It is interesting how times have changed.

I went to University with a couple of very public political figures who said similar hateful "funny" stuff like this down the union bar all the time.

I think now they wouldn't dare say it in "real life", but give them an online forum and we are back to the good old days...

If social media use deadens empathy, maybe unpleasant online comments are a reflection of that. On the other hand, perhaps people's online comments just hold up a mirror to what they're really like.

Yep, and maybe both are true Jo and self-re enforcing and lead to millions voting for Trump...
