Detectives have arrested seven people over an alleged billion-dollar scam in which a crime syndicate coached former young offenders, inmates and school students to file false sex abuse claims with the NSW government.

It was an organised gang of 6 who took a percentage encouraging former inmates of correctional facilities, kid's homes etc to make claims of abuse to a government entity set up to pay compensation.

No-one was required to go to police. Lawyers are being investigated..it involves over $!B in claims

Just a credible story was involved and claimants were coached. Sounds like too many stories were the same.

This case reminds me of the BBC / Savile debacle where nothing could be proved one way or the other but plenty of compo all round.

One poor claimant said she had never been able to watch the BBC since Savile abused her.

She gave her interview in front of a shelf full of Dr Who memorabilia
