I'm sorry to hear about your friend. 70 isn't a great age any more. Amazing that her mother is still alive. It's an interesting article. Sounds as if she dodged a bullet with being dumped at the altar, as unpleasant as that must have been. As much as it's understandable that gays/lesbians might be tempted to marry an unwitting member of the opposite sex as a kind of camouflage, especially when homosexuality was against the law, it's surely an unfair and dishonest thing to do and could completely upend the other person's life and the lives of any children.
