TOPIC: Trump and Gaza
#255214
Trump and Gaza 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Surely the reality of Trump's suggestion will be that thousands of volunteer Americans (and Europeans) will enter to rebuild Gaza concentrating FIRST on providing mass public housing and facilities like hospitals for Palestinians. At the same time encouraging a democratic election vote in which Hamas are not allowed to stand due to Oct 7th.

Then luxury hotels, spas etc constructed to attract tourism and give jobs to Palestinians.

Can anyone (except extreme Zionists) object to that?
The film of Life in Gaza is essential viewing tonight. BBC2 9pm.

The above BBC show is SOO distressing to watch - it is as though in the last century someone made an hour film of life and death in a Nazi death camp. Ironic.

What amazes me is the sheer resilience of the people in the worst possible scenario. It is a must see. No matter what anyone may think of the BBC.

Yes that resilience (I suspect the same everywhere - even in the Nazi death camps) is fantastic. Humans can adapt to almost anything. But please posters watch this - a truly superb hour of TV.

Sounds like a plan JK except Trump and Israel want the Palestinians gone.

Those Palestinians allowed back in to re-build ( orphans who have lost parents?) are just as likely to be Hamas planting the odd grenade here and there to go off at times just like Israel's deadly pagers.

The whole sordid mess reminds me of the ghastly Imelda Marcos and her dreams of creating a Philippines Film Festival.

She did indeed build a fantastic looking Pavilion but apparently there were dozens of deaths of poor imported labour from India due to shocking (non existent) safety standards , and bodies were just cemented over.
Locals began to refer to it as the Temple of Doom.

Film festival never happened and the Marcos' fled. The Pavilion was pulled down.

Watch the show Hedda - we all agree Palestinians must NOT be sent out of Gaza and neither Israel nor America can take Gaza away from Palestine which MUST be acepted as a sovereign nation by the rest of the world. But negotiations lead to the middle way. Both extremes are wrong and often just bargaining positions.

Yet the world is governed by a small bit of land.

If you think about it both Palestinians and Israelis are genetically related to Canaanites and the Semitic peoples. If they want to kill their brethren, let them get on with it.
