While I still worked in media in Oz this strange person would turn up, usually when they sensibly had a media pen to corral the unruly press and somehow, get in the pen.

He would then drive journos and photographers potty by grabbing any celebrity to either get an autograph or photo with them. Often ruining any opportunity the media had when it was a hectic occasion.

I was absolutely floored when last year he had become a policeman and is now accused of shooting dead a TV presenter and his lover in a house, in a street I once lived in.
