TOPIC: Rather sad news
#255839
Rather sad news 2 Months ago
Now I've turned 80 and with my pension failing to cover two areas - health and law - I'm having to sell off my music collection.
Going back to the 1950s and containing quite a few gems (like gifts from stars like Lennon, Hendrix, Harrison) - it's bye bye time to old friends.

Great shame. Must mean so much more than money.

Not at 80 Cat - these days I'm after health and welfare, not memories!

What would be your plan anyway for all these items and more in the longer term after you've departed this mortal coil. They'd need another good home eventually wouldn't they. Will these be an auction sale?

It's a great shame JK. Everyone has to get rid off their collection sooner or later. I would be wary who you are selling to and where. You don't want to be lumbered with VAT.

Oh yes don't worry I took detailed advice from lawyers and accountants as I do on most matters.

And more good news JK. You're still a young man. Just checked. William Shatner 93 still working. Clint Eastwood, 94, still working. Eastwood to be fair, looks his age. Shatner looks amazing. The syrup helps.

where are you going to sell it? Online? auction? someone like Sony.

It's all the rage though isn't it..Bob Dylan sold off all the rights to his music for some enormous sum.

It's also a bit of an age thing. I keep getting rid of clutter and collections.
