Almost all criticism of Trump seems to come from those who hate him and the praise from those who blindly love him.
My position is this. I disagree with most of his policies and do not like his bullish way of doing things but he was elected (I suspect with assistance, possibly, of foreign influence). He is entitled to go about things how he wants. So far he seems to be achieving results, doing it his way. I don't know enough about internal US administration but bringing in an outsider to clean out fat structures makes sense. Seeming to align with vile leaders seems to have resulted in less killing. Whether his methods will work or not, I cannot join in with the criticism as I'm simply not well enough informed of the details and am not prepared to form opinions based on media coverage.

What results has he achieved to date apart from sacking 100,000s of working Americans including tens of 1000s of despairing MAGA voters
who probably have families with debts to pay, while cuddling up to a mass killer like Putin and sending the US stock market into a frenzy?.

Where on earth do you get your belief he is saving costs?

For crying out loud he ran up a $Trillion debt during his last term. Still there, still has to be paid. Probably by pensioners and canceled Veteran's benefits and so on.

Of course his side kick Musk is doing this even though he has scooped up $US40Billion in grants and interest free loans and has just been awarded another $Billion contract.

There is not a scintilla of evidence money is being saved except in a few $Million which magically transforms into Billions.

While they scrabble to find the air traffic controllers they fired along with Nuclear scientists. Didn't even keep their contact details.

Meanwhile AIDs victims and the desperately poor of Africa are dying in the streets because the US stopped foreign aid which is rotting on US docks.

Just amazing how this ghastly pathological, lying would be despot still convinces people even after he's exposed.

This man literally lies and fabricates on a daily basis yet so many are in awe of him, and they cannot post a single positive apart from wishy washy vague nonsense.

It's a cult.

Luckily neither you nor I, Hedda, are American citizens. I'm sure everything you say is true and the world is heading for disaster under Trump - but I thought that LAST time 8 years ago and it survived. All I do know is that society needs a clean up (and here in the UK and probably in Australia). Whether his route is good or bad I have no idea. Likewise killing has stopped in Gaza - temporarily I'm sure - and the Russia/Ukraine war will probably stop. I don't understand tariffs. But I don't know enough to condemn him just because I don't like him - he's been elected so give him a chance, I say.

The funding was for TRANSGENIC studies, where scientists introduce human disease cells like Alzheimer’s to study a cure.

well no nothings a problem for anybody if they are disinterested.

But you know..humanity and all that. The USA actually used to be quite good at it. We natter as 1000s die but it's all just a statistic isn't it and they're forrin so what does it matter?

Hugely ugly leadership to my ears. We will have to see where it leads. This is unprecedented. I admit I find it hard to imagine much good coming from such a bleak soul; but let us hope his admirers are wiser than me.
