Cannot believe a Labour government is targeting the disabled and mentally ill. Plus Starmer's stance on Ukraine will never sit well with his undying support for genocide in Palestine. Israel now bombing Aid workers in the rubble. Starmer as silent as their graves. The man is a weak and callous bastard.

You judge people by how they treat the most vulnerable in our society. It sickens me how these people are always on the kicking end of the nation's problems whilst those who cream in vast wealth are overlooked. What they don't seem to understand is that just hearing about such plans in the news and press even if they are never enacted will have devastating consequences for vast numbers in terms of worry and anxiety, and probably their self esteem too, just the people who shouldn't be made to feel that way.
These people didn't create the system after all, politicians did.
Meanwhile at the same time we ring fence overseas aid budgets, happily spent millions daily on hotels for those who shouldn't be here, promise untold billions to Ukraine at the drop of a hat and have MP's as much on the take personally out of the public purse as anyone else in society, actually far more so. The same goes for many civil servants.
Starmer isn't a real and genuine Labour rooted politician just like Sunak wasn't a genuine Conservative. Infact it looks to me like Starmer is governing far more like a Conservative PM than the supposed real one was.

But one who inherited an almost £3T National Debt - unheard of, ever in history!
Hard decisions need to be made - and are being. You got a solution, Cat?
Starmer (an educated man) had the guts to say STOP, although he'd little choice.
Most of the billions of debt were caused by some magical virus and the government and opposition pressured Boris to flatten the curve on a sheet of paper.

Agree Rich.
While these PIP payments and other benefits I am sure need looking at and we should be careful with public money, you don't start with the vulnerable in a humane society. And ignore other ways to generate revenue because you are too cowardly and self-serving to take on the ultra wealthy.
This is another symptom of the death of democracy: that a Labour party takes this approach highlights the lack of any real choice anymore.
BARNEY: hard decisions may need to be made but don't assume they are the onlyones that could be made.
The hard decision would be to take on seats of power and money, not start with the people in society we should have the most compassion for.
