Re:Ronaldo and Rooney do it again... 17 Years, 4 Months ago
Villa gifted Man Utd the two goals through very poor defending. Three defenders failed to close down Giggs while two others failed to intercept the pass which resulted in Ronaldo's goal. They should have held themselves together for a full 90 minutes. Man Utd were fairly poor themselves, but rightly took advantage of Villa's lack of concentration at the end.
Overall, one of the worst games of football I've seen this season. Neither team deserved to win.

Spot on, Chrissy. I hope so much that Arsenal win the league. Wenger has built a squad of fantastic young players, who play the game with honesty and joy.
Arsenal destroyed my beloved Derby. So did Man Utd. The difference?:-
At Old Trafford, with one minute to go, and Utd 3-0 up against a hapless team of no-hopers, the horrible Ronaldo still saw fit to dive and con the referee in to giving him a penalty to make it 4-0. No need for it. Just cynical cheating from a cynical and nasty waste of space.

I'm still rooting for Sven too, JK, but I think his real chance for glory will come next season.
I didn't read the article about the Clough biography. I must buy that.
I have just finished reading "The Damned United" by David Peace, which focuses on Cloughie's 44 days as manager of Leeds Utd, but with plenty of flashbacks to his Derby days. An excellent, original and pacy novel, combining fact and fiction. However it portrays a warts and all version of Clough which didn't really suit my tastes. I prefer my image of the great man to remain untarnished.
