is how EVERYONE is fantastic - from drone to casting to tiny bit parts - I bet even the catering was great. But it interests me that so many are talking about the issues it raises (like Mr Bates did and like Three Women does) where there is one owerwhelming point - it is great television.

I just couldn't get in to it. I do agree Stephen Graham can be good when the role is right. I did crack up when there was a mob armed officer's barging in, to arrest a kid. Very Hollywood, reminds me of gun drops they go off. It does not happen unless the gun is faulty but I have never seen it happen, I did try numerous times with my old firearms.

Who do the media and Starmer call it a documentary, it's a propaganda piece. I just love it how Andrew Tate was supposed to be influenced the fictional character. It's Operation Mockingbird on speed.

Agreed it is not a documentary and does not pretend to be. But it's also NOT propaganda - it does not preach or try to show all angles. It does not do the obvious - look at the dead girl and her broken family - but it looks at the effect on the often forgotten victims (example - the superb performance from the social worker in Part Three). Whether or not the kid killed the girl is not only passed over but is not important (and we never know - all we know is that he decides to plead guilty - and believe me many innocent people, adults and children, are pressurised to do that simply to get it all over).
As long as "you will be believed", as long as police have the wrong agenda - conviction not truth. As long as lawyers make fortunes. As long as media runs the judiciary and public opinion.
But as I've said - all that is secondary. The prime point is - this is great film making. Great script. Great acting. Great camera work. Great production.
Extraordinary.

I enjoyed the first two eps, though I found the third ep overly long and a bit silly, especially when the DIY store assistant hassled the father after recognising him from the news. A very unlikely scenario. Magnificent acting from all, and just how easy would it be to put pressure on a child to get them to fess up to anything?

The DIY scene is in the 4th episode Cat; the third is the two hander between the boy and the social worker and I thought it so fantastic you probably forgot it even happened!

That's right -episode 4. No, I thought the Social worker ep was brilliantly done. How they do that in one shot is beyond me. Think that young man has a fabulous career ahead of him.

I reckon he'll win Best Actor BAFTA and indeed will go on to huge international success.

And another plus is that Martin Clunes wasn't in it.

Not as far-fetched as Andrew Tate being the one to influence the lad. I found it utter woke bollocks.
