Spring clean 2 Months, 1 Week ago

When you've lived somewhere for 60 years there is often a need to spring clean. Recently, having decided to sell off all my vinyl, we started emptying cupboards that haven't been opened for decades. Loads of old albums and singles but fascinating how Surrey Police, who searched my home from top to bottom in 2015, went through everything. It took them 4 days. They even lifted floor boards and opened soft furnishings and toys. And found NOTHING. No porn. No naked photos. Because there was nothing to find. You'd have thought they would have dropped their prosecution but no, they continued and were shown up in 2018 when I was declared NOT GUILTY of several charges and a retrial was refused for the rest - the Judge having seen our defence. Cops were fired (just the junior ones - the senior ones always survive and get promoted).
Same as in 2000/1 - but back then they took a few dozen perfectly acceptable snaps of teenage boys from the thousands of old polaroids I had of friends, couples, grand parents etc... declaring to court (and media) they had found "photos of teenagers" but never showing those to court (or media) as they were totally innocent. Police standard behaviour back then - as was (we've since learned) arresting, raping and murdering women using their warrant cards. And (as happened to Rolf Harris) saying PORN was found on his computer which mysteriously disappeared before prosecution.
But no wonder in 2015 it took a team of a dozen FOUR DAYS to go through the house. It took James and me a whole day to empty ONE CUPBOARD yesterday and I'm spending all day today going through the bags found in there - paperwork from 1968, old wires and plugs - and massive quantities of ancient coins in envelopes from hundreds of countries - none worth anything! The 3000 vinyl records have already been collected and taken away to be sold online.
