So MPs and the MSM giants know legacy media days are numbered.

They are relics - legacy TV pumping out programmes that people don't want. They try to aim programmes at the youth but it's really dumbed bollocks and kids are not interested. MPs and BBC need to admit it's a tax not a licence, I have only had inspector visit my property once in my life time, he backed away as he me cleaning an old fire arm for a friend. When you hear young people talk about movies and TV shows it's stuff on the streaming platforms like Netflix and Prime.

I see BBC are doing their best with Gladiators reboot, I only watch it when it's on at the pub but even still it's averaging 3-6 million, I wonder how many pubs have it on? It's pretty much nostaligia for the over 35's but in the past if a programme dipped in the low millions it would be axed.

Who needs to watch Wolf Hall or Mr Bates and the Post Office when they can watch With Love, Meghan instead?

UK TV industry in crisis, says Wolf Hall director

...The director of acclaimed period drama Wolf Hall … Peter Kosminsky … argues, public service broadcasters would not be able to afford to commission Wolf Hall or Mr Bates vs the Post Office. …

Patrick Spence, the executive producer behind Mr Bates vs the Post Office, told the BBC this was "a serious issue". "Not only would Mr Bates not get funded today, but I wouldn't even have started developing it," he said.

Former subpostmaster Sir Alan Bates, whose story was central to the programme named after him, said it would be "a real shame" if these kinds of dramas could no longer be made….

Sorry to be thick but wasn't Mr Bates on ITV? And isn't ITV a commercial channel? I get so confused at 80 - the world seems mad.

When does Ed Davey go to jail like the Post Office staff. If it was Trump who had the role in the P.O. like Davey people would go in to a fit of rage TDS would be off the scale.
