He was so cute as a player and remains really cute with a good sense of humour. I also think he seems to be one of us - his views on immigration for example. Good interview. Good guy.

Beeb shooting itself in the foot again. The Starmerization of the media. Linekar could have presented MOTD for another 10 years. He was perfect for it. And he has every right to air his views, be it immigrants, Gaza, benefit cuts etc. Even if it makes Sweaty piggy Starmer sweat even more. Lineker is a hero. The 86 World Cup and Italia 90 were legendary.

Was he the one who shat himself on the pitch and then rubbed his arse on the pitch like a dog with worms?

Absolutely agree and admire how he speaks up for the Palestinians even though it brings hate upon him.

I find his views on everything to be so eminently sensible. There are actually some wonderful football "heroes".

# Will the new Pope also speak up for Gaza?

I avoid Twitter / X now as the news out of Gaza is so terribly depressing. And I hate that I avoid hearing it.

No; just a highly successful and articulate individual in sport and the media, in several countries. For decades.

Urban myth. If you look at the clip he definitely hasn't messed himself. He wouldn't be able to stand up, stay on the pitch and get up run like he did if he had. Unless he was wearing a nappy it would have been running down his legs.

The Pope will do what he is told to do. It's all theatre.
