TOPIC: Not vaguely interested
#258944
Al Gershwin

Not vaguely interested 1 Week, 5 Days ago
So much of the media tells us about the private lives of sports people, royals, celebrities, soap actors etc. - even politicians.

Who cares? However, these articles (nonsensical/Andrew driving alone) are front page news every day - whilst food banks are opening in Surrey.

I read the news today oh boy! I Don't mind a little frivolity, but it should never make the headlines. Celebs these days are mostly very dull, especially pop stars. I don't think Chris Martin is human. He's AI generated. I'm tearing my hair out over countries bombing the shit out of one another. Yes, and a government intent on making poor folk poorer whilst filling their boots. But some glamour, a little scandal, a sprinkling of stardust at least? For many this life is unbearable.

There was a time actors and musicians were interesting and some degree of sex appeal. I never had a major celebrity crush apart from Roseanne Cash when she had the cute pixie haircut.

There was time snooker and pool player's were proper playboys with tons of charisma. Same with boxer's and actors did have something to say without virtue signalling.

Celebrity "gossip" can become quite tedious.

Even the Met Gala now seems dull and the "outrageous" costumes worn look decidedly passe.

I wonder how online newspapers are faring with gossip stuff.

Now the online Daily Mail has a section readers must buy a subscription to. But if you type the info into Google you often find other outlets have the tosh for free.
