of it. Did anyone else feel as I did in the early 60s that Jean Simmons was FAR more gorgeous than Liz Taylor?

One day I'll relate the tale (it's long winded) of the morning when Kirk Douglas and Farrah Fawcett Majors came to my tiny Mews flat and were greeted by (then unknown) singer Marilyn who looked exactly like Marilyn Monroe.

After Tuesday nights at the famous Blitz Club at least half a dozen young people would come to flop at my flat as they lived in the outer suburbs & couldn't get home.

Actor Jack Nicholson once hired singer Marilyn and the Australian model Linda Kerridge who also was a Marilyn Monroe clone so he could arrive at a Hollywood premier with a male and female Marilyn on his arms.

Flippin eck Hedda. Would love to know more much more about your life. Kirk Douglas?

Oh and JK..hard to choose between Taylor and Simmonds. Simmonds shades it, Odd isn't it? Joan Collins actually got sexier and better looking as she got older. Taylor deteriorated. Booze perhaps.

I was at the time just a lowly gofer for 4 days of the week on a film Douglas and Farrah were making at Pinewood.

The job just involved running errands for the stars but I often got a lift to the set with Douglas as his driver was staying with me. I really liked Kirk.

Highlight of the week was taking him fish'n'chips every Friday night to his Belgravia hotel. He once even trusted me to pack a bag of clothes for him when he was flying to LA for a long weekend to see his wife.

Douglas was a gentleman but he got a lot of stick from the mainly working class crew after he went on the Russell Harty show and sang "Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner"

And a good tipper as well which apparently was well known among film crews.
