Could you install an ad blocker for Facebook? Some info here: cybernews.com/best-ad-blockers/how-to-stop-ads-on-facebook/
I was thinking the other day how much simpler life was before the internet. On the other hand, it does make some things easier. But what I particularly dislike about the onward march of digital technology is the increasing assumption that everyone in online 24/7, has a smartphone and a fully functioning home office. That seems undemocratic as it's unfair not only on people who choose not to use that technology but also on people who can't afford it, which is probably an increasing number of people given the rising cost of living and the expense of digital tech.
I hadn't thought of an adblock for Facebook. I only visit FB occasionally as I get a tad tired of "friends" posting inane pics of their lunch or dinner. Who is interested in that?
What concerns me is that you can do a Google search for something & then ads pop up on your FB page for similar.
I have no problem with websites having adverts..they need the money. But when ads become intrusive it's a put off. The
Daily Mail for instance is nightmarish.
Adblocks work well for a time..my YouTube one is excellent but every now and then they catch on and change how it all works.
Then you have to wait for the adblock creators to also catch up..which they do.
