"Escalation is in nobody's interest" 1 Day, 15 Hours ago
One of the cliches mouthed by politicians but untrue - escalation by Palestinians (if a million people broke out of Gaza and took over Tel Aviv, a few miles north, they would find lots of food and medicine).
Escalation by Lebanon - attacking Israeli nuclear bases - after Israel have done that to Iran.
Escalation by Iran - to stop the invasion of their country by bombing Israel bases.
Escalation by Russia, the USA, the UK - bombing Israeli nuclear sites stopping the aggressor.
So whilst de-escalation is preferable, escalation is NOT in "nobody's interest".

Very astute point. Events are already escalated and this arises through conflicting interests. If people stopped having interests, we'd all be better off.

Wondering what Trump is planning next? He claims a truce is out of the question. Why? A new war means they can finish the job in Gaza. Turn Iran into another Iraq, allow a bloodthirsty vengeful terrorist cell to take over (that is all that happens when they do Regime change), millions die, Israel then maybe looks at Syria again, Libya, Egypt and Lebanon. Starmer says nothing other than 'Israel has the right...' Sends jets. Prick.

Before and since Cain and Abel, escalation is about egos.

From the biblical Book of Genesis, known as the first two sons of Adam and Eve. Cain, the elder brother, was a farmer, while Abel was a shepherd. The story centers on their contrasting offerings to God, where God favored Abel's offering over Cain's, leading to Cain murdering his brother out of jealousy. This act is considered the first murder in the Bible.

Cain offered fruits of the soil, while Abel offered the firstborn of his flock. God favored Abel's offering, leading to Cain's anger and jealousy.

Cain, consumed by jealousy, killed his brother Abel in a field. God punished Cain by banishing him and marking him to protect him from being killed.

The story of Cain and Abel is often interpreted as a parable about the consequences of sin, jealousy, and the importance of righteous living. It also explores themes of good and evil, the nature of sacrifice, and the development of civilization.

The world is being played by Trump and Netanyahu and the Israeli government.

Trump is going to go in full on with an Iran assault on the excuse Israel must be defended (from it's own aggressive illegal strikes on Iran)

The Israelis knew full well Iran had capabilities to respond with rockets on Israel.

Netanyahu has form in sacrificing Israeli citizens.

Note how Trump has told Tehran to evacuate 10 million people.

They are going to kill the Iranian leadership and go after Iran's oil.

This has been planned for years. The corrupt Israel government have just been waiting for the right pliant US leadership.

De-escalation today seems to mean the USA invading Iran. Justified by the fact that Israel is trying to stop the spread of nuclear weapons. The suggestion that could be accomplished by Israel scrapping all nuclear weapons is regarded as stupid and anti semitic. Meanwhile Israel continues to kill thousands of innocent Palestinians, though this is rejected by Israel as fake news. The world has gone bonkers. Mad people rule countries, often elected by a majority of humans in their countries.

So what are the Arab countries going to do? And where will Russia go next, if they take their eye off Ukraine?

Where are all the Trump apologists now? Peace in Ukraine in was it two weeks? Sorting out the Middle East? F-all on both fronts and now about to invade Iran, deepening the fault lines that may usher in World War Three (whatever that looks like). Ugly soul = ugly outcomes. Simples.

And putting Iran in an impossible situation. What does 'total surrender' look like? Do they mean you must hand it all over to the US? Well if that's the case they may as well go out fighting. Gadaffi complied with the USA 100%. Then they slaughter him like a dog in the street. Saddam was hanged live on Daytime TV..the only thing missing was a studio audience and a phone in comp.
