TOPIC: Watching North By Northwest

Watching North By Northwest 1 Week, 4 Days ago
for about the tenth time (it's one of my Best Films Ever Made) and seeing that Hitchcock never wasted one single second of film nor one word. That's one reason why he was so great. Really - watch it and you'll see what it means.

Greatest director ever. I rewatched Frenzy again the other night. Gripping even on the umpteenth viewing. And how he blended the old Covent Garden in with the tension is sheer genius. And Barry Foster attempting to retrieve his tie pin from the rigor mortis grip of his last victim in a truck load of potatoes. Great creativity cannot be taught. It's a gift from the 'Gods'.

I agree Cat, Frenzy is gritty and flawless.

Anthony Shaffer wrote some wonderful screenplays including Wicker Man.

It was awkward seeing Frenzy with my parents, especially when the line "You finger me" is blurted out near the start of the movie.

Ha ha. Perfect casting too, although Michael Caine turned down the Bob Rusk role. Lovely. lol.
