Superman 3 Weeks ago
Will be interested to read any poster's review of the new Superman film (JK ?).

Some critics love it, others not so much.

The White House has praised Superman as the All American Hero while others say Superman was an illegal immigrant who was brought up and worked on a Mid-West farm just like 100,000s of Latinos!

I watched that Python sketch recently-Bicycle Repair Man-where everyone is dressed as Superman. lol. Supermen catching the bus, and in the laundrette washing their red pants and capes. So funny.

I stopped watching superhero films when I was 12 years old. The age that they're aimed at.

Tell that to the White House who issued an A1 photo of Donald Trump as Superman.

Perhaps a tad unwise as within minutes o X/Twitter another A1 pic appeared as Trump grossly fat in a sagging Superman costume.

I'm beginning to loathe A1.

I agree Robbie,I think the last superhero film I watched was Batman Returns. I couldn't get in to the later Batman movies, there were filmed too dark and the fight scenes were bad shot and badly edited. I gave up.

It was only rated due to Heath Ledger's early death after production.

Christian Bale is a classic example of a nepo baby, Charlie Sheen is another, awful actor and his brother Emilio Estevez is just Emilio Estevez.

I was with a small group of 4 ushered into a room to meet the late Christopher Reeve who I thought was excellent as Superman.

Poor Reeve was in a wheel chair, outside there was a vocal group of anti-stem cell research protestors.

We were instructed not to ask him questions.

One of my most disliked columnists asked him a question. We were all booted out.

Reeve was also on a breathing machine but when meeting media, he literally just held his breath & talking was impossible. He had flown all the way to Oz to support a Stem Cell research unit.

It was so sad. He was the first Superman I saw in a New York cinema.

Shame the Christopher Reeve Superman sequels were naff, the first one is very good but long-winded due to the duration. I did like reading both of his memoirs...I don't agree with stem cells; it's adrenochrome harvested from fetuses and children.

South Park was funny, when touching on stem cell subject.

I think Christian Bale is a man who's face you would forget 10 seconds after meeting him. Every scene that he is in, he tries to steal. If you look at an actor like Eddie Marsan who just gets on with the job, not trying to steal the scene.

American Psycho is terribly overreacted and and his British accent still comes through mid sentences. The book was good though.

I'm not that up on Stem Cell research but I thought Christopher Reeves was wonderful flying all the way to Oz just to help raise money which he did..$Millions.

I'm a huge Superman fan and have been since a tiny child. Used to collect Superman comics and in fact, I go back further to the original Reeves..George Reeves who was really good as well.

I used to go to the cinema on Saturdays with my oldest brother to watch the George Reeves Superman serials and we'd sing in chorus..Up Up and Away and then "look in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, no it's Superman" as we rolled boiled sweets down the wooden floor to annoy other kids.

Superman was always on the side of the oppressed or the working man. Pretty sure the authors deliberately wrote it like that and avoided being called Commies in the 1950s.
