What I don't understand is why people support Trump despite this case. Do his supporters think he was falsely accused or do they think he was guilty and just not care? He did say he could commit murder in broad daylight and still get support, and this case suggests he's right.

Everyone is guilty now, even Brian Warner, despite being cleared.

Obviously I have no idea of the truth in the Carroll case but I recall when the Trump tape was released where he said he could "grab them by the pussy" there were numerous photos of MAGA female fans wearing t-shirts stating "he can grab my pussy anytime"

The fact that they were invariably hideously & grossly overweight did not help.

Dawned on me then there are obviously 1000s of women who may find Donald sexy !

Yes it is troubling Jo.

There are millions seemingly who now - because they have no idea what to believe about anything anymore - believe what they wish to believe about anyone in order to meet their own ego centric emotional needs.

So to make themselves feel better about their empty lives they will castigate a TV celeb who has said something "wrong" (to provide themselves with the illusion of having a moral compass); while, at the same time, they can cheer on an objectively and evidenced moral degenerate like Trump (he gives them the illusion of strength and certainty) at the same time without noticing the cognitive dissonance...

The lack of self awareness is chilling...

He wasn't bad looking when he was younger, but it's hard to see how he could be viewed as sexy now. Maybe power and money make him sexy to some. I bet he's a charmer though, possibly with a self-deprecating sense of humour (not that long ago, he was shown on camera referring to his "beautiful hair", which got a laugh from people around him).
