TOPIC: The value of vinyl

The value of vinyl 1 Week, 4 Days ago
Interesting that a lot of my 1970s and 1980s albums are worth a bit but not a lot. Sadly because fans have died off in their millions. Whereas 1990s vinyl albums are now worth a fortune - at least ten times the earlier decade ones. So a £20 80s vinyl album by someone like The Boss is nice but not massive - the equivalent Oasis or Blur rubbish would fetch £200 each. Unfortunately by the 90s all our promotion albums to the Tipsheet were thrown out monthly to the charity Shelter for free!

It's an interesting market with vinyl. Even with second hand stores. Some record shops consider old Americana music trash and sell those records cheaply, whilst other's charge an arm and a leg for the same albums.

I have not bought new Lps or releases. I will not fall for the hype and some new Lps can have skips and dings, when opened.
