I was surprised when I heard this short story was being made into a film that I didn't recognise it - I thought I'd read all of If It Bleeds (indeed, all of King's work). It's now out again in Hardback as a standalone due to the movie, coming shortly.
My main feeling is - how on earth are they going to make a film out of this? It's great, like all Stephen's stuff. But I would have thought - impossible to turn into a film. Having said that, many of the best adaptations of King's work come from his short stories (this is only 100 pages). Shawshank, for example, and Stand By Me.
I shall see the movie the moment it hits screens. Meantime, read the book.

Is there a single work by Stephen King that hasn't been made into a film? When reading his stories, I've often wondered if his writing is just suitable film material or if he writes with a view to it being filmed. His descriptions often seem to read like outlines for scenes.
There's a film I came across many years ago that I long assumed was based on a Stephen King story, as the protagonist was an author and the setting was New England. But it's apparently not (In the Mouth of Madness).
