Phil Collins/McCartney AI Scam 1 Week, 6 Days ago
A friend sent me a photo which was presumably Phil Collins on his death bed being serenaded by Paul McCartney. I thought it was odd as McCartney looked too young. It looked like McCartney from about 20 years ago. He's thinner now and greyer. Anyway, I was right to be suspicious. It was AI fake. Collins isn't on his deathbed and was in hospital with a knee injury. Why do people do things like that? Frightening because for the first moment or two I believed it.

I saw those photos and they are annoying.

# As some observant people pointed out: McCartney is left handed but he was playing the guitar with his right hand.

There is also a set doing the rounds of Bob Dylan and Elton supposedly performing beside Ossie Ozbourn's casket.

I hate them. Now Yoo Toob scammers are using awful AI pics on their videos. So annoying.

I find hard to understand too what would motivate anyone to do this. Why would it even occur to one? I can only assume it is something to do with craving attention and approval. Neither being the wants of a healthy mind.

It makes you wonder if this stuff could soon be used to place innocent people at the scene of a crime they had no part of, with no way of telling the real footage from the fake. Anyone could then be set up, especially high profile people, such as this here in pure bad taste.

I suppose if it could be proved there was no way of telling the real footage from the fake then guilt could never be established from footage...

AI is just a bit of fun at the moment but it will turn sinister, I have no issue with deep fakes, memes are daft thumbnails on Youtube for clickbait.

The police edit police tapes or wipe them clean off computers to hide corruption.

I'm sure you wouldn't be happy if your wife, daughter, or sister, or brother were the victims of deepfake porn.

Which is illegal, but it's horrific what the human race can do.

Robbie is bang on here with the deep fake porn comment, which I almost added onto my own previous comment yesterday.

That type of thing could be used to blackmail anyone, and even if it was easily proven fake, there is still the utter humiliation anyway. It could be passed around all your friends, workplace and neighbourhood and there will always be some people who will believe it. In the most deeply sinister depths this could reach, someone out to totally finish someone off could make fake AI underage content too against someone. It's no laughing matter at all. We could all be at risk from this. If we did reach a point where the AI fakes were so realistic you could no longer even forensically detect them from reality this could have profound consequences as real caught in the act criminal footage could become no longer admissible in court because of reasonable doubt.

I know you mention it just being fun at the moment GM, and you did stick a video of Starmer doing Karma Chameleon on Top of the Pops, in place of Boy George, and when I looked at that video, which was amusing, it really did look like it was Starmer performing with Culture Club in Boy George clothing and not actually George. It was shockingly authentic. I even called out JK on this site a few months ago after he appeared to be taken in by a fake AI photo of Starmer and Lammy sipping champagne together on what I think was an aircraft looking pleased with themselves.

An example of how AI is used dishonestly in the real esate industry.

I once tried doing photography for a real estate agent friend.
The first property was the most beautiful country house/

The only problem was there was a bloody great TV aerial that really spoilt the scene no matter from what angle.
The agent had the aerial dismantled for the photos and then put up again. These days..AI would do the trick.
