TOPIC: Migrant Hotels

Migrant Hotels 6 Days, 11 Hours ago
I simply cannot understand why it matters who pays the bill - Government, your mother, a good friend, a charity... it's still a hotel for God's sake.
And you cannot close down an establishment because protesters outside may cause dangers to children going to school.
In that case, ban cars from driving past.
And close the Royal Courts of Justice during protest days.
For God's sake, society, grow up and start behaving like human beings.
Oh, I forgot, many say we are no longer humans.

And as for "One resident MAY have told a girl he wanted her to have his babies" - which used to be a compliment a few years ago!!!!!

What next? "One resident has brown eyes"? It's like Witchfinder General all over again (and has been for years - the stupids have just got even more stupid).

Many homeless charities can't help the homeless and homeless veterans. What accommodations they are put it in are normally unsafe, and male rape is the norm in some hostels, JK.

When my partner & I volunteered in a soup kitchen during lockdown, it really opened our eyes, and reality kicked in about homelessness and cash-strapped councils who can't help them. Yet, there seems to be endless amounts of money for the boaties.

A lot of homeless men said they would rather be on the streets than in a hostel or in some slum HMO sharing with heroin addicts and convicted sex offenders.

Why weren't good, clean and honest homeless housed in hotels where they have their own ensuite bathroom and free three hearty meals a day, giving shopping vouchers and Aspen cards? The smell can be overpowering, but the boaties get fresh clean clothes and the privilege to shower up before eating. Despite them being destitute, many of them removed their beanies or dirty baseball caps and still said "Grace" before eating. Which was touching to see.

I was not allowed to be inside the soup kitchen when it was women-only. My partner told me stories that homeless women who had to flee domestic violence, despite awaiting cancer treatment, even homeless women are raped by strangers during the night or had tents burnt with them inside. Same, I heard from the men.

When they report, most of the time, it gets ignored. Police see them as a nuisance, yes, there may be some addicts who might have owed money or were in the game, but they didn't give consent.

I did raise the issue with my last and current MP, but just got a half-arsed response from both, even from the local council, their are services avaiable but they are strapped for cash.

It's the same pattern I have noticed, if you are not druggie or an alkie or fleeing domestic abuse there is no help. Some were given children's tents with Barbie or Action Man on the sides and told to count themselves lucky by the council; how degrading.

Hear! Hear! And where do they go if they aren't in the hotels? A question the stupid haven't even asked themselves. They'd be quite happy putting up a migrant in a spare room perhaps? Oh. Thought not.

Was that your chat-up line when you were cruising in your Rolls to cruise?

Who said romance is dead?

No wonder young girls are tooling up; the police are not protecting society.

They gather evidence if they are not losing evidence.

I simply don't agree that being cruel to migrants will solve other problems GM. And no, I never "cruised" in any of my cars. Don't believe the fantasists or media. My point is that different cultures and different times change attitudes. That was why I changed NIGGERS to NEGROES in my rendition of The Sun Has Got His Hat On.

And nobody can explain why we should NOT use vacant hotel rooms to house those in need. Or why loonies and stupids won't protest if, instead of hotels, they are housed in other facilities ("Not In My Backyard").

OK I cannot understand why the colour of skin or religious beliefs or dietary habilts affect an opinion of a human being. Or why one individual is considered representative of a whole section of humanity. Seems brain dead to me - but each to their own.

If I don't believe the media, Barney will give me a lecture.

And even more - in the 1980s when I was a major, front page, TV celebrity - could I and would I have taken a teenager into a Peep Show and shared a tiny cubicle specifically designed only for one person?
I did not, of course; not wishing for tabloid headlines the next day.
The Jury decided I did.
BONKERS!

Like I said if I don't believe the media according to Barney or Hedda. I am conspiracy theorist. You can't win.

**********************

Not a very logical thing to say and I have never advocated believing everything printed in the media especially having now lived in 3 countries dominated by the Murdoch media who regularly print hogwash.

But that doesn't mean that every now and then outlets like The Guardian or even the Daily Mail / The Sun don't get it right at times.

Also having worked for a time for a Murdoch outlet (with the distinction of being personally told to "fuck off" by Rupert ..don't hold it against him ) I'm well aware of how so much information can be distorted by a newspaper or the BBC and so on.

Currently in Oz where the Iranian ambassador has been kicked out, a controversy rages in the media over our so-called "secret service" ASIO who claim Iran paid criminals last year to fire bomb my favorite Bondi Jewish Deli (best locks & bagels ever) and a Melbourne Synagogue.

I thought at the time this was most odd as that particular Synagogue is well known for being Anti-Zionist and even Anti-Israel and would seem an odd target for Iran especially when there are nearly 1000 Synagogues in Iran and a large Jewish community who live unhindered and unharmed.

My skepticism has increased as it's now revealed the "intel" came from..Israel.

So no I don't claim anyone should blindly believe everything in the mainstream printed or TV media but the same applies to the endless Youtube and social media pundits.
