Like Lucy Letby I've said many times that I have no idea of guilt or innocence in cases where I simply do not have enough specific, detailed evidence. TRIALS, though, should have and often do NOT - frequently because defence teams have neither the time nor inclination to examine in as much depth as police or CPS. Ditto the CCRC which ought to devote equal time, expense and effort, if not more, to investigation. A very few media people (such as Woffinden or Kennedy) do this and the link is worth reading.
