Netflix 4 Days, 6 Hours ago
Resubscribed after a year out. Only really ever watched two series on there--Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul--which I loved. JK recommended Thursday Murder Club so I thought I'd best give it a whirl. I do notice straight away, regarding their film list, wall to wall Harry Potter, Indiana Jones etc. Their film list hasn't altered much in 12 months. Cast Away- overrated nonsense in my view. They do still have some very good European series such as The Dark and Marianne. And maybe this time round I might give Squid Game a chance as they did rave about it. And Ozark.

Extraordinary value and content level.

If you can't find something to interest you here - you never will!

Their formula (making movies etc., everywhere) saw off Hollywood....

Agreed old bean, but I do feel they could change the film list a bit more often. Every other movie on there has got Tom Cruise in it. I would also like to see a greater collection of old movies. But that's probably asking a bit too much as it's aimed at a younger audience. Never really been into blockbusters. But if I ran Netflix I'd probably put it out of business. lol. Ealing comedies, Charlie Chaplin, Stan and Ollie and vintage Horror. I'm at that stage where they put fart after old. lol.

I think all Charlie Chaplin movies are now in Public Domain, even the talkies. Stan & Ollie silent movies are in the Public Domain also and we not far off the likes of Saps at Sea and Way Out West to be released on cheap budget DVDs.

I was more of a fan of the Bowery Boys.

My partner subscribes to New Faith Network, Disney+ and Hallmark Channel. She loves all those cosy dramas and TV movies. Especially something called When Calls The Heart. She is a bit like you, Cat.

She is not in to OTT action scenes unless it's Marvel, violence, excessive swearing or crude jokes because script writers are lazy.

The only movie might go to the cinema see is Spinal Tap 2, even it probably on DVD/Blu Ray by Christmas cheaper than the cinema ticket and probably be bundled with the soundtrack or the first movie. Wiltshire should really captalise Spinal Tap and build statues of the band or at least have a bench for the drummers.

When Calls The Heart doesn't sound like my cup of tea at all GM. lol. I like old movies, but not sentimental ones. I'm probably the only person alive who loathes It's A Wonderful Life.

I never liked It's A Wonderful Life but I like James Stewart in Harvey. I did shed a tear at the end the bunny was there on the swings and Harvey opens the gate to be with Elwood.

Indiana Jones: Lost Ark and Last Crusade are superb movies, but Crystal Skull and Temple of Doom were shit. Crystal Skull was not needed and CGI is just too much. Temple of Doom, badly cast, acted. Kate Capshaw as Willy Scott got on my nerves.

I gave Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny a huge miss. People told me Dr Jones was the secondary character and woke.

GM, you've watched an amazing amount of TV in your life - your posts/cartoons/old links confirm it. Exercise might have been better!

Watching screens though will be very different soon; sofa sitters (like you/dog handler) will pay more. Life in a blessing..

I found Castaway watchable, but nothing outstanding. I didn't like The Terminal. I have no idea what accent Tom Hanks was using, but now and then, a Southern drawl came out like he was from Alabama and then his real voice.

Christian Bale in American Psycho did a convincing New York accent to extent, then his British-Southern accent came out. When he pronounced "Duke" as "Dook" to talk about Genesis, it was a great New York dialect.

Ages ago before they clamped down on password sharing between different households my brother gave us access to his account. It was on our TV for a couple of years or so. The only thing I watched on Netflix was the old ITV 1990's Mr Bean that was on there. Nothing else at all. I didn't miss it at all when access was eventually denied and I certainly would not pay for it.

I find it very hard to get into or interested in modern dramas and films for some reason and the style they are filmed, does anyone else?

I don't have Netflix. I did have it for a month and saw everything I wanted to see. Things that a lot of people rave about did nothing for me, like "Stranger Things", "Schitz Creek", and "Squid game".

I have sky cinema for £3.99 a month, but apart from that there is enough on Freeview for me. "I fought the law", "The Guest" both as good as anything on Netflix.

Confirm these links!

Oddly, you call news cartoons, and along with news links, Barney. When you are obsessed with sports, which flair, razzmatazz, bright colours, and match fixing. Sport is a real-life cartoon to you!

Oh, the irony.

Who is that link aimed for? It's like an old school essay.

I tried Stranger Things as it was in the 1980s. It was good how got the authenticity spot on but the series was lacklustre. Maybe I was not the target market. Not everything was good in the 1980s but it was a simpler time and people were more upbeat. A lot of students try to dress like it is 1980s again with their mullets, pin badges and leather trousers.

Looking back the mullet was awful and it did turn a lot of women off, unless you were in a band. In the early 1990s people grew their mullets out to look like the characters from Wayne's World.

Even Pat Sharp laughed about his mullet.
