Makes great sense and totally to be encouraged. Just as we should now be in an expanded EUROPE (including parts of North Africa, in my opinion) - this is the way humanity is going. The exact opposite to stupid Brexit and stupid Trump tariffs.

Yes it is positive news. Unless we wake up and reverse stupidities like Brexit (even if just doing it under the radar so the loons eyes don't swivel...) we will get left far behind in the new world order.

But never mind, at least we control our sovereignty and borders again...

All 3 countries are founding members of the trading entity BRICS which comprises of over half the world's population and within 5 years will outstrip the USA as the most powerful trading bloc on the planet.

Imagine all those people buying widgits every day!

Putin played Trump like a violin in Alaska. His first action was to go home and immediately blow up an American factory in Ukraine.

My father said it over 50 years ago..make China our best friend.

I'm beginning to wonder if Putin really is playing Trump/stringing him along or if Trump has been on Putin's side all along and any mildly critical noises he makes about Putin and what he's doing in Ukraine are just intended as a sop to Ukraine and its allies to give the impression he's on their side and to string them along.

I repeat my theory Jo, Trump owes his Presidency partly to Russian and Israeli secret online work.

Brilliant? No.

Why the hell would we in the West want to encourage or be pleased about the ganging together of two of the most oppressive dictatorships in the world against us economically or militarily? Encouraged! What do we gain from that? Putin has been trying to drive wedges left right and centre across the Western world nations and EU to serve Russia's interests as he sees it, and China does it to us even more but in far more furtive quiet underhand fashion with long term goals.

Make China (the Communist politburo government) our best friend? That's like saying to a decent child they must make the bully at school their best mate to stop him hurting him.

We...we...we... Rich. I'm thinking of them - and of humanity which is developing this way. Isolationism is a mistake.

I'm sure even you've had your cliques JK.

People and nations who share common values stick together. What values do we share with the Russian and Chinese government exactly?

Notice I set "the government" and "the people" as two very different things, as even here in the UK we know Starmer doesn't represent the feelings and thoughts of very many people now who largely despise him.

I think the point is Rich that we share a lot of values with other nations, such as Germany, France, Italy, Norway and on. And have decided to go it alone. I agree with JK: big mistake.

The USA has arguably committed more atrocities since WW2 than arguably Russia or indeed China and certainly India (yes I know Stalin was a monster).

The US has killed millions of people in Vietnam, Cambodia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya in it's quest to shape the world in it's image (but fails miserably) and loot these countries wealth

They can preach all they want but no-one is now listening.

Russia, China and India have many more nuclear weapons than the US.

We should be friends with them.

I've never been a fan of all those marches with tanks and robots all doing identical marching and choreography but then military might is only worth having to defend humanity - the species - against aliens like Hitler and Netanyahu.

I completely disagree that leaving the EU means "going it alone" Wyot. It's just like the offspring of a parent leaving home and cutting the purse strings. You're still very connected to each other and always will be, but just not in that particular place anymore. Starmer still mixes it with other European leaders on the world stage, he's done it very recently visiting Trump with Macron, Merz and Meloni. Infact the one missing from Western Europe was the Spanish PM and they are in the EU.

Huge controversy in Australia over a couple of former State Premiers attending this event in China because they were photographed with Xi, Putin etc.

Yet not a world on the 5 former Conservative PMs who were also snapped with the same over the years.

I thought it outrageous that Australia did not send a senior diploma or Governor General.

This event was to celebrate the end of WW2 when India, Russia and China were allies of Australia.

More significantly, apart from Putin we owe a debt to the Russian people who gave millions of lives to defeat the Nazis.

And as the US General McCarthur said... China lost millions of souls to Japan and kept Japan occupied when Japan poured a million soldiers into China.

So China basically saved Australia from a Japanese invasion because they were tied up militarily in China.

Japan was convinced it could take Australia with 100,000s of troops as they had bombed Darwin into oblivion and sent mini subs into Sydney Harbour to bomb the city.

As Hedda, and others rightly note. While liberating Europe from the monster Hitler, Russia lost more than 20 million of it's people, more than any other WW2 nation

At the Big Three Potsdam summit near Berlin, July 1945, the monster Stalin met the monsters Truman and Churchill (soon replaced by Labour P.M. Attlee) agreeing to Soviet retention of liberated lands in return for Russia entering the War to defeat Japan already a spent force. Which didn't stop monster Truman from promptly nuking nearly 200,000 in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Post-WW2 Monster Stalin failed to allow free elections in the expanded Soviet Union and the newly formed CIA under Monster Alan Dulles began an eight decades ongoing demonizing of Communism. While the demonic U.S. Military Industrial Complex expanded Worldwide to counter threats which the self-serving CIA invented. Initially in 1952 combined operations CIA/Ajax and MI6/Boot with re-elected Churchill illegally invading Iran for oil, seems familiar?

Since winning WW2 for so called ‘Free Democracy’ the FAKE virtue US-led CRIMINALS for their profiteering Military Industrial Complex, corrupt Banks, and fake media have KILLED 20 to 30 MILLION Human VICTIMS in 37 VICTIM NATIONS.
