It quite amused me on having a quick google to see what to do with a Kohl Rabi to see that it was referred to as an item that appears in a vegetable box regularly and then rots in the fridge.
True.
I adapted this idea for lunch today from the best recipe I found having found no decent ones anywhere in my cooking experiences, involving the strange "War of the Worlds Invasion(?) Vegetable" or, my cooking books, including the brilliant Leiths Cookery Bible.
Steak on Kohl Rabi, Pear and Feta Salad.
Cube one whole Kohl rabi and simmer in a strong olive oil.
Leave it cool and then set aside.
Meanwhile prepare some steak (fillet worked well)in only butter salt and pepper.
Chop a pear, some feta cheese and cos lettuce and stir it into a bowl with the now Cool rabi.(sic)
Cook the meat to your liking, set the salad on the plate and dress with raisins, balsamic and oil and lay the steak on top.
