Very interesting programme on BBC2 last night - which will still be available on iPlayer. It was "The Birth of Israel".

Presented by Jeremy Bowen (who I believe is Jewish). I've always quite liked Bowen's reports - he seems fair and balanced.

There was a clear admission from many of the older people of the atrocities that had been committed in the attempts to drive the Palestinians out (and some of those telling the stories were clearly distressed and regretted the incidents). One actually said "the secrets are now out".

I urge everyone to watch - for a better understanding of the situation (rather than relying on the often slanted view of the (influenced) media.
