I wonder if Boris is far cleverer than he leads us to believe?
During the campaign he was asked if he had ever slept with a man.
"Not Yet" was his answer !
Very clever answer, indeed. If he has said "certainly not" he may have aliented the (considerable) gay vote.
God help all you Londoners with this racist loony governing London for the next four years. Ken should have made more about his statement calling black people Piccaninnies with water melon smiles. I bet David Cameron is dreading all the embarrassment that will surely ensure when he opens his big fat mouth.
I'm no Ken or Boris fan, nor am I from London, but I'm prepared to give Boris a chance before slagging him off.
Instead I shall hijack this thread to get in my point on congestion charges. Labour councillors in Derby want to bring in a congestion charge there, which could cost me up to
I know Boris has only just started his job as mayor and I'm not slagging him off on his record as mayor, however he has been in politics for many years and therefore I'm slagging him off for his past record where he has repeatley put his foot in it, or his head in the case of that charity football match.
Anyhow as regards congestion charges, I feel that this is right for central London as there is more than adequate public transport to get to Central London and even before congestion charges it was the only sensible way to get into central london, however in smaller cities this is not always the case, I live in a village with no train station and infrequent and expensive buses to the nearest large town (Guildford), so in these cases it would be unfair, however something should be done to stop these stupid middle class women in their 4 X 4's taking little Johnny a couple of miles down the road, delivering them to school safely from all those paedos that hide in bushes!!! The greatest danger to those kids is from those cars themselves so there!!!
Both Anthony and Robbie have valid points - transport in rural areas is erratic and cannot be relied on.
The amount of damage done by a few people travelling to towns and cities will also pale into insignificance compared to the "lardies" who take their kids to school (or, as in the case of one of my neighbours, drives 200 yards to post a letter !)
Indeed not,ITK. Don't like the sound of that at all. I was hearing about the proposal on local radio whilst driving to work. I had to turn the air-con on to counteract the steam coming out of my ears.
